Cloud Computing

We’ve all heard about the “cloud”. What exactly is the cloud? Basically, the cloud is a computer somewhere else that is accessible from the Internet. When something is in the cloud, it means it is stored on a computer in a data center rather than your computer. It lets you access your data from a computer that’s connected to the Internet.  That can be email, files or applications.  You may be familiar with Drop Box, Google Drive, QuickBooks Online, etc.  These are all solutions that allow you to store data in the “cloud”.  These services allow you to access your data from any device that’s connected to the Internet.

These are simple examples of services that are readily accessible and consumer friendly.
